Pillar 2 – Wellness MEC Plan (Minimum Essential Coverage)

ASi Administrative SolutionsWELLNESS

The Minimum Essential Coverage plan (MEC) is the insurance component that makes you compliant with the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). It includes all 63 essential benefits that must be covered under Obamacare. This makes it possible for you to receive 100% of your covered preventative care with no out of pocket expense.

See Appendix A for covered MEC wellness benefits

HSA QUALIFIED

The MEC plan allows you to make pre-tax contributions into a Health Savings Account (HSA). An HSA is a tax-qualified account that earns tax-free interest, and can be used to pay for qualified medical expenses. Your HSA balance rolls over from year to year, which makes it a great financial planning tool. You can set up an HSA with any local bank or credit union.

Examples of HSA qualified expenses include, but are not limited to:

  • Vision
  • Dental
  • Office visits
  • Chiropractic

See Appendix D for complete list of covered expenses.
